The Jake 3 - Black
This cap goes out to all the good “Jakes” out there.
Originating in early 20th-century Greater Boston, “Jake” is an affectionate slang term for firefighters across New England. Being called a “Good Jake” is one of the highest compliments in the fire service, recognizing skill, courage, and reliability.
The term is believed to come from the “J-Key,” a telegraph key used in Boston’s early street-corner fire alarm box system. Firefighters skilled at sending Morse code alarms were known as “J-Keys,” which eventually evolved into the nickname “Jake.”
The Jake 3 is a classic lightweight 8-panel cap in a clean black colorway, featuring custom interior Jake logo fabric and the signature “J-Key” embroidery on the rear side panel as a nod to its legacy.
A portion of proceeds from every cap sold supports the Boston Fire Cancer Foundation, which provides financial and emotional support to members of the Boston Fire Department diagnosed with occupational cancer.

How to Measure Caps
Wrap a cloth measuring tape around your head just above your eyebrows and ears. Pull the tape comfortably snug, read the length, repeat for good measure and use the largest measurement. A piece of string will work too, then just hold it up to a ruler and measure.
